Terms and Conditions

Application
  • There will be an administration fee of HK$100 per child for enrolment into all courses provided by Power Elite English Learning Centre.
  • Your application is only completed when we have received all the details required in the enrolment form by fax, email or post, together with the appropriate tuition fees.
  • First-time applicants will receive confirmation by phone or email detailing the commencement of the registered course or courses.

Payment of Fees
  • Tuition fees are charged on a monthly basis, payable 14 days before the first day of the two/three-month term in which your child is attending classes. Payment is based on six/ten/twelve classes over the two/three-month term.
  • We accept payments by cash, ATM transfers, and cheques. Please make cheques payable to "Power English Learning Centre Ltd."

Leaving Power Elite English Learning Centre/Cancelling Classes
  • We assume that your child will continue with classes from term to term unless you notify us otherwise in writing.
  • We require 14 days written notice prior to the date your child is leaving, or fees will be charged as usual. Where 14 days notice is given, any remaining pre-paid tuition fees will be refunded or credited to your account for future use.
  • If your child returns and enrolls in a new course after an absence of three consecutive calendar months or more, a new administration fee of HK $100 will be charged.

Replacement of study materials
  • If your child requires replacing any lost course materials, a minimum replacement cost of HK$50 will be incurred. Replacement costs will vary depending on the cost of the materials replaced.

Attendance and Absence
  • All students must arrive on time. All classes will start on time. No make-up class will be arranged for late students.
  • Parents or helpers must pick up your child on time. We will not take any responsibilities for your child's safety if you let them be unattended in the centre.
  • If your child is sick or has a temperature please do not bring your child to class.
  • If we find that your child is not feeling well, we may not allow him/her to attend the class and may contact the parent to pick them up immediately.

Food and Beverages
  • Students are not permitted to eat or drink in class.

Refund Policies
  • In case of centre closure prior to the commencement of a course, our centre will refund in full the course fee collected to students immediately.
  • If a course cannot be operated according to the arrangements specified in the fee receipts and students decline the revised arrangements offered by our centre, our centre will refund to students the course fee collected on a pro-rata basis as soon as possible and in any event not later than one month after the students have requested for the refund.
  • If a course cannot be operated on the date or at the time specified in the course leaflet and students decline the revised arrangements offered by our centre, our centre will refund to students the course fee collected on a pro-rata basis as soon as possible and in any event not later than one month after the students have requested for the refund.
  • In case of cessation of a course after its commencement, our centre will refund to students the course fee collected on a pro-rata basis as soon as possible and in any event not later than one month after the cessation of the course.
  • The course fee collected is in accordance with the conditions stipulated in the Education (Exemption) (Private Schools Offering Non-Formal Curriculum) Order. The fee is collected on an equal monthly basis.
  • All students should retain the receipt for refund purpose.

Refund Procedures
  • Our centre will refund in accordance with the above policies.
  • Our centre will inform the parents or guardians either over the telephone or in writing.
  • When processing the refund, our centre will require parents or guardians to produce the original receipt for verification. Upon receive of the refund, parents or guardians will be asked to sign to acknowledge the receipt.
  • Our centre will pay the refund either in cash or by cheque.

Catch-up or make-up classes
  • For students who enrol partway through the two/three-month term, parents may either pay pro rata for the remaining classes or arrange one or two catch-up classes to achieve the same level as the other students in the class.
  • We can arrange make-up classes only for children who missed their regular class through sickness. We cannot arrange make-up classes for any other reasons. Each make-up class for Power Phonics or for Power Spelling will last 20 minutes (for 50 minutes classes) and each make-up class for Power Grammar will last 30 minutes ( for 75 minute classes).
  • Students who missed a class may apply for a make-up class with the support of a valid medical certificate.
  • For students enrolled in the Power Writing, Power Critical Reading and Creative Writing courses, no make-up classes are offered.
  • A maximum of two make-up classes (where applicable) may be made per term.
  • Make-up classes must be taken within the two/three-month term enrolled and cannot be carried over to the next term.
  • If our available dates for make-up classes do not match your child's availability, we cannot guarantee a replacement class. Space available is on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Make-up classes cannot be accumulated to offset the tuition fees for the following term.

Postpone/Class cancellation
  • Classes may be cancelled if the teacher falls ill. Classes will be postponed to another scheduled day.
  • We do not hold classes under the following weather condition. Classes will be postponed to another scheduled day of the same month. If the dates set for make-up classes do not match your child's availability, no other dates will be arranged.
  • If in doubt, please call the centre to confirm if classes will be going ahead.

Photos and Other Media
  • Due to the proprietary nature of our courses, photos and videos may only be taken with the specific written permission of Power Elite English Learning Centre. We reserve the right to use photos, videos and/or sound recordings of children and their work or classes for teacher training, curriculum, and/or promotional purposes, unless otherwise informed by you in writing.

Disclaimer
  • All participants enrolled in activities at Power Elite English Learning Centre (The Centre) do so at their own risk and the centre is not responsible for any loss, damage, or injury to students, their family members or guardians and/or their guests as a result of participating in these activities.
  • If the child has a medical history of any special health conditions, parents should notify us in advance and clearly stated in the enrolment form in order to avoid any unsafe conditions or unnecessary incidents. The centre will not be liable for any claims arising out of any uninformed health conditions of the child.
